Colorado residents are lucky. The legislature has given you great leeway to settle your divorce so that it works for you. The court is supposed to approve your agreement regarding financial matters between the two of you as long as the Judge finds that it is not unconscionable. In other words, as long as your choices are not really unfair, the Court is supposed to approve your agreements.
Your agreements regarding your children are supposed to be approved by the Judge as long as she/he agrees that the agreements are in the best interests of your children.
All in all, this is good news. Generally, you have the freedom to make agreements that work for your family and your future.
