The author describes her life with her second husband, after being widowed. On celebrating their 26th anniversary, she reflects on their married life. For the most part, marriage had been an easy road – they were a great match and valued each other. But, as with everyone, difficult life circumstances threw a wrench into their idyllic marriage. Ultimately, what sustained them was their commitment to relationships. The author had the example of her parents’ committed marriage, and her husband had the experience of a strong relationship with a younger sister. The ability to commit, and stay committed, kept them together.
