Lizzi Marriott lost her life in 2012 after being raped and murdered. Seth Mazzaglia was convicted in 2014 of the crime. Lizzi’s parents are now struggling to keep their daughters sexual history private under New Hampshire’s rape shield law, which protects victims from having their sexual history used against them in court. Mazzaglia is appealing his conviction and Lizzi’s parents are concerned because her sexual history would be exposed to the public, and would be further traumatizing the family. The defense argues the rape was actually consensual, and things just got out of hand.
