It is commonly stated that half of all marriages end in divorce. This discourages young people from giving marriage a chance. However, the marriage rate is not that simple. Divorce rates have fallen in the past decades, and a marriage stands a 75% chance of success. Also, the divorce rate is not the same for all couples. For example, people tend to increase their likelihood of divorce the more times they marry. The reasons for getting divorced are unique to every couple, and so there’s no reason assume marriages will end in divorce.
